EMDR

EMDR is an evidence-based form of therapy designed to help people heal from PTSD and traumatic experiences.

It is based on the idea that much of our emotional distress comes from traumatic or disturbing memories that haven't been fully processed. When a painful event gets "stuck" in the brain, it can make it hard to move past negative self-beliefs and cope with daily life.

Using an 8-phase structured process, EMDR helps your brain pick up where it left off so it can process those memories in a more adaptive way. The goal of this approach is to address past experiences, current triggers, and future worries.

Many people experience meaningful improvements, which may include:

  • Feeling significant relief from distressing symptoms and upsetting memories

  • Developing a healthier, more positive view of themselves

  • Experiencing less physical tension or distress tied to past trauma

  • Feeling better equipped to handle present and future triggers

While some clients notice positive changes in as few as 6 to 12 sessions, healing happens at a different pace for everyone. Complete treatment involves working through past memories, addressing current challenges, and building practical skills for the future to support long-term well-being.
