How am i supposed to do this?
The transition from “me” to “we,” as people move from being a child of a parent to being a parent themselves, is one which can bring unique and sometimes seemingly overwhelming change.
Every family is unique. And yet all families are similar. They all operate with their own internal logic, hierarchy, and power. Understanding how your family worked when you were growing up can be immensely helpful in knowing the values and beliefs you received, and which in turn you pass along to your children.
Our work involves an understanding of how your family functions, what roles each individual plays, and how the interactions between family members fall into patterns. All families have strengths and weaknesses, and by utilizing what you’re doing right to help in areas where you as a family are struggling, you can begin to form more healthy patterns with each other.
